Tuesday's Classic Rewind

I really need to make a clever name for Tuesday and Thursday's classic games. My classic game for today is the Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker. It has been almost 10 years in North American (March 24) since this gem came out on the Gamecube. This game was quite controversial at first due to the game being cel-shaded but eventually people liked this game. I sure did. It's quite a whimsical and somewhat depressing game.
This game followed the same concepts as previous Zelda games. You got a music instrument, a legendary sword, and your green tunic with hat. What really made this game stand out was the fact in was cel-shaded. It's amazing how using a different type of art style can change the entire game. The graphics really set the game apart from any other past or future titles. The music in the game was amazing. The minute you begin to hear a song play, you know you are in the Zelda universe. Sorry, after posting about this game I am going to

Thursday's Classic Game

How many of you are familiar with the Legend of Zelda series? I am sure pretty much all of you are and if not, you have not stepped outside since the 1980's. I will go with the flow this week and choose a Gameboy Color Legend of Zelda that I think all of you need to play.

Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons/Ages
They really did have some epic music in commercials

In these fantastical Legend of Zelda games, you take control of Link and try to save the two Oracles from evil. You know, the typical LoZ story. Either way, this was a pretty fun game. What was an awesome feature...SPOILERS...is that you could carry one game over to the next. It even extended the story for you. Yeah, if you can find a copy go pick it up and play.

The Legend Continues...Quickly

I figured I would write a short post tonight. Yes, I am well aware that I wrote one earlier but nothing keeps the brain motivated and functioning like videogames and writing (sources are pending on that). I figured I would write a quick piece on a classic that received a lot of hate at first but became a staple in the household. That game would be The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask.

This N64 classic was once very hated by many and loved by few. I mean, the game was really messed up so it's kind of understandable. You have 3 days to stop Armageddon with the help of some annoying fairies. It didn't help that the main enemy was a lonely scary looking black person/chicken hybrid running around with an even scarier mask. I want whatever they took when making this game.
Enough about the negatives though. It was an overall enjoyable game that brought something new to the table in the Zelda universe. That would be changing attributes through the use of a mask. It was pretty cool to be able to change into a Deku kid or a Gordon, but to transform into masked deity Link was an awesome time. If you haven't had the opportunity to play this game, go do so now!
